Northwood Middle School About Us

 Northwood History Northwood Middle School is named for the area in which it is located. Students support the community by raising money and donating goods to charitable organizations several times throughout the school year. The school has a state-of-the-art television studio (CTV), and students produce monthly programs for LTV 54/24, the district’s cable access channel. Northwood Middle School offers several extracurricular programs, including athletic teams, show choir, band, Spell Bowl, speech, Sisterhood in the Wood, Boys to Men and many more.

Northwood is a Title I school and offers the English Language Learners program for students still learning the English language. The school was built in 1959. Students attending Northwood came from Franke Park, Northcrest and Price elementary schools and feed into North Side High School. The school is located in the Board of School Trustees District 2.
