Memorial Park Middle School Fine Arts

Memorial Park prides itself in its dedication to the fine arts through music and visual arts.

Music

We offer beginning, intermediate, and advanced level classes in band, orchestra, and choir. There is also a training band, comprising of advanced students trying out new instruments. After school musical activities include 7th and 8th grade jazz combos, Big Noise! jazz band, Any Day Jazz band, and our advanced show choir. These groups travel and perform throughout Fort Wayne and the state of Indiana at competitions such as ISSMA and the Bloomington Jazz Festival.

Visual Arts and other electives

We offer visual art classes for all three grade levels. These classes can be taken as a semester only class, or as a alternating day class. Other electives include speech and drama, engineering and robotics, technology education, business technology, world language exploration, Spanish I and II for high school credit, French I and II for high school credit, exploratory music, and communication technology. Our engineering and robotics classes participate in the Future City competition, and our technology and communication classes work on short films, commercials, writing screenplays and scripts, and film morning announcements that are broadcast throughout the school.
