Matt Schiebel - Principal
Principal Matt Schiebel brings experience and success to Kekionga Middle School. Mr. Schiebel joined FWCS as a science teacher at Blackhawk Middle School in 1987. In 1997 he was named FWCS Teacher of the year and one of ten state finalist for state teacher of the year. Mr. Schiebel first began his administrative career as an assistant principal in 2002. He was named Principal of Northwood Middle School in 2004. In 2008 Mr. Schiebel was named Principal of Shawnee Middle School where he served through this past spring. Mr. Schiebel brings 15 years of leadership experience and 30 years of education experience to Kekionga Middle School. He is committed to the students of FWCS and a passionate supporter of public education.
Mark Bailey - Assistant Principal and Athletic Director
Assistant Principal Mark Bailey begins his 25th year as a FWCS employee this year at Kekionga Middle School. Mr. Bailey joined FWCS as a mathematics teacher and football coach at South Side High School in 1992. He was named Head Football Coach in 1999 for the Archers. In 2005 Mr. Bailey moved into administration as Assistant Principal at Snider High School for two years. In 2007 Mr. Bailey returned to South Side High School as assistant principal. In 2011 Mr. Bailey was named Principal of Lane Middle School where he led a turnaround effort leading the struggling school to an "A" school in just three short years. Mr. Bailey is excited to return to the South Side Feeder Family!
Lonnie Heck - 6th Grade Assistant Principal
Lashanda Gates - Counselor
School Counselor Lashanda Gates started her career Ivy Tech Community College for two years. She then moved to the high school level where she served for 17 years. Mrs. Gates joined FWCS in 2016 as the Guidance counselor at Kekionga Middle School. Mrs. Gates has been a part of every major school district in Fort Wayne, Indiana where she has gained the knowledge and experience to counsel and serve all students. Mrs. Gates is committed to all families and she values the importance of building relationships with students in guided them to success. Mrs. Gates is committed to the educational process and working with your student here at Kekionga Middle School.
