Towles Intermediate School Trust Card FAQS

What is a Trust Card?

A Trust Card is a badge that all Towles New Tech (TNT) students are required to wear on a lanyard every day. Trust Cards give students the following privileges with the permission of the facilitator at the beginning of the year:

  • Entrance to Download Days
  • Purchase goods from Paw Points Store

Each subsequent quarter, students can level up on their Trust Card by following our school norms. Each level up in Trust Cards brings a new privilege earned.

How does my student earn his/her trust card?

All TNT students complete a culture project the first week of school. This project focuses on the norms of trust, respect and responsibility as well as general expectations of our school. Once a student has completed his/her project, he/she will be awarded a Trust Card.

What happens if my child forgets his/her Trust Card?

When a student forgets/is not wearing his/her Trust Card he/she will not be allowed to have the privileges of the Trust Card. Students will be allowed to use the restroom, but they must first ask a facilitator before signing out.

What happens if my child loses or destroys his/her Trust Card?

When a student loses or is not wearing his/her Trust Card he/she will not be allowed to have the privileges of the Trust Card. Students will be able to purchase a new Trust Card from the Paw Points store.

What are Paw Points and how does my student earn them?

A Paw Points card is given to every student. When a facilitator notices that a student is doing something good, they may receive a punch from that person. Full cards can be redeemed at the Paw Points store on Fridays to purchase Trust Cards, snacks, earbuds, lanyards, pens, pencils and other rewards.

What do the Trust Card steps mean?

Trust Card steps are intermediate warning steps before a student receives a referral.

  • Trust Card Step 1- Verbal warning from facilitator
  • Trust Card Step 2- Conference in the hall with the facilitator
  • Trust Card Step 3- Official written warning. Students are required to determine which norm (trust, respect or responsibility) that they were breaking. Students also create a goal to prevent further violations of TNT norms. All TNT administrators, facilitators and staff are emailed when a student is on Step 3. This step is in effect for 3 school days. If a student continues to violate TNT norms then he/she will be moved to Step 4.
  • Trust Card Step 4- Loss of Trust Card. Students are required to determine which norm (trust, respect or responsibility) that they were breaking. Students also create 3 goals to prevent further violations of TNT norms. All TNT administrators, facilitators, staff, and parents are emailed when a student is on Step 4. This step is in effect for 5 school days. Students will not be allowed to have the privileges of the Trust Card. Students will be allowed to use the restroom, but they must first ask a facilitator before signing out. If a student continues to violate TNT norms then he/she will receive a referral.
  • Referral- Referrals are handled by Mr. Leininger according to the FWCS code of conduct.
