Textbook Assistance
Do you think you might qualify for free textbooks?  If so make sure you fill out the application form and return to the main office. FREE MEALS DO NOT EQUAL FREE TEXTBOOKS:   As you know, our elementary, middle and Ward students all receive meals at no cost.  Meal and textbook assistance applications were linked for many years, which can lead to a misunderstanding that if meals are free, so are textbook fees.  This is not the case.  Parents must apply for assistance for textbook rental, and an application must be completed each year.  Financial assistance eligibility carries over from the prior year, but ONLY FOR THE FIRST 30 DAYS.  This allows time for parents to submit a new application for the current school year.  If they don’t apply by the 30 day deadline, the students will revert to full pay status for textbooks.  High school students must apply for both meal and textbook assistance.  You can apply online at for textbook assistance.  Please contact Mrs. Armstrong in the main office 467-4400 for assistance.
