Elmhurst High School's JAG (Jobs for America's Graduates) program has been recognized for being one of the top-performing JAG programs in the country. JAG is offered at four of Fort Wayne Community Schools' high schools. The program is a school-to-career program aimed at keeping young people in school through graduation and providing work-based learning experiences that will lead to a rewarding career. The program is offered at the schools through a partnership with WorkOne of Northeast Indiana. The Elmhurst program, led by Kristine Etter, received a 5 of 5 Award, which is given to JAG programs that are making sure JAG students are finding success after leaving the program. Elmhurst exceeded the required success rates in every category. With nearly 30,000 students, Fort Wayne Community Schools is one of the largest school districts in Indiana. FWCS proudly allows families to choose any of its 50 schools through its successful school-choice program creating diversity in each school, including some with more than 75 languages spoken. FWCS offers seven magnet schools focusing on areas such as science and math, communication, fine arts or Montessori at the elementary and middle school level. In high school, students can choose from the prestigious International Baccalaureate program, Project Lead the Way or New Tech Academy as well as other rigorous academic and specialty training programs.
