FWCS book fees can now be paid by credit card - October 04, 2007

Fort Wayne Community Schools is now accepting book fee payments by credit card. Invoices were mailed to parents last week. Previously, parents could only pay by cash, check or money order. Now, parents can visit the FWCS Web site (www.fwcs.k12.in.us) and pay online. There is no service fee for paying online. Fees for books are due Nov. 2 to avoid paying additional fines. Families qualifying for free or reduced-price lunch receive free textbooks as funded by the State. Parents pay fees for textbook rental and workbook and other material costs as allowed by the state. The amount varies from grade to grade and subject to subject.

With nearly 30,000 students, Fort Wayne Community Schools is one of the largest school districts in Indiana. FWCS proudly allows families to choose any of its 50 schools through its successful school-choice program creating diversity in each school, including some with more than 75 languages spoken. FWCS offers seven magnet schools focusing on areas such as science and math, communication, fine arts or Montessori at the elementary and middle school level. In high school, students can choose from the prestigious International Baccalaureate program, Project Lead the Way or New Tech Academy as well as other rigorous academic and specialty training programs.
