The new school year will be here soon, which means it is time to register students for the 2007-08 school year at all Fort Wayne Community Schools buildings. Students must register at the school they will attend, even if they attended that school last year. FWCS has set aside two days to register all students: - 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 3 - Noon to 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 6 Parents should bring all necessary contact information, and those new to the district should bring vaccination records, birth certificates and Social Security cards for their children as well as proof of residency.


With nearly 32,000 students, Fort Wayne Community Schools is Indiana's second-largest school district. FWCS proudly allows families to choose any of its 53 schools through its successful school-choice program creating diversity in each school, including some with more than 75 languages spoken. FWCS offers seven magnet schools focusing on areas such as fine arts or Montessori at the elementary and middle school levels, as well as the prestigious International Baccalaureate program for high school students.
