Northcrest honors Memorial Day - May 25, 2006

In honor of Memorial Day, at 2:30 p.m. Northcrest Elementary School students will gather by the flagpole outside to recite the Pledge of Allegiance and listen to Taps. Gil Springer from Post # 82 of the American Legion will be playing Taps. In addition to this, uniformed members of the Army from the Northcrest Recruiting Branch will be present for the Pledge and playing of Taps. All students will be given a poppy to wear for the day, to honor the holiday. The American Legion Women's Auxiliary (Post # 47) donated the poppies and the Northcrest PTA made a $50 dollar donation for them. The school is located at 5301 Archwood Lane.
