The 16th annual Showcase Concert will be held at North Side High School at 7:30 p.m. Friday, May 12. The concert will feature the award winning Wave of Distinction show choir, All That Jazz, That's Jazz Two and the Vocal Jazz III choirs. In recent years, the show choir and top jazz choir have been consistent finalists in the respective competitions. This is the students' opportunity to feature the groups in their home school and for the general public. North Side is one of the few, if only schools, to offer competitive show choir and jazz choir experiences for their students. In addition to each group performing their award winning competition shows from this year, there will be solos and small groups performing. Music that will be performed includes the following musical styles: Broadway music, vocal jazz, blues, songs from the Great American Songbook, Earth Wind and Fire and current shows such as Rent and High School Musical. The concert will be held in the newly renovated school auditorium. Any recent alumni of All That Jazz will be invited to come to the stage to perform Bridge Over Troubled Water with the current group. Plan now to enjoy an evening of musical entertainment. Admission is $4. Doors will open to the auditorium 30 minutes before show time. Please enter from the new parking lot at door # 4 or from the old main entrance to the auditorium. North Side High School is located at 475 E. State Blvd and the principal is Charles DeFord. For further information, contact the school at 425-7530.
