Students at Fort Wayne Community Schools' elementary schools will have an opportunity to sleep in Wednesday, Feb. 8. It is the fourth of the district's six scheduled delays in order that staff may receive professional training. All 34 FWCS elementary schools will begin their day for students at 10:40 a.m., two hours later than usual. Morning pre-k and kindergarten students will attend from 10:50 a.m. to 12:35 p.m., arriving at school with grades 1-5 and full-day kindergarteners. Afternoon pre-k and kindergarten students who take the bus will get on the bus one hour later. All afternoon pre-k and kindergarteners will attend school from 1:35 to 3:20 p.m. On scheduled delay days, there will be no breakfasts, but lunches and after-school activities will all be on the same schedule as a two-hour weather delay.
