Towles Students Pitch Escape Room Designs - September 14, 2018

Towles New Tech Middle School seventh-grade students will present their ideas for an escape room games at 1 p.m. to community partners from Room to Escape. Their first project of the year, seventh-graders used their knowledge of Language Arts, Math, Science and Social Studies in their designs. The students created background stories, a series of puzzles, and a presentation in small collaborative teams in which they referenced the concepts learned during their class studies. Representatives from Room to Escape will choose the top teams based on their presentations. The top teams will have $50 to purchase items to create a professional product to be placed in the Game Cafe for patrons to play while waiting for their Room to Escape experience.

With nearly 30,000 students, Fort Wayne Community Schools is one of the largest school districts in Indiana. FWCS proudly allows families to choose any of its 50 schools through its successful school-choice program creating diversity in each school, including some with more than 75 languages spoken. FWCS offers seven magnet schools focusing on areas such as science and math, communication, fine arts or Montessori at the elementary and middle school level. In high school, students can choose from the prestigious International Baccalaureate program, Project Lead the Way or New Tech Academy as well as other rigorous academic and specialty training programs.
