New Tech at Wayne hosting community service day - May 22, 2018

New Tech Academy will send over 200 students out into the community for a community service day. New Tech Academy has partnered with Fort Wayne Trails, the City Riverfront Project and the Fort Wayne Police Department to spend time on the trails and riverfront, as well as Franke Park, preparing for the summer season. Students will work hand-in-hand with community partners to give back to the community in which they live. Other location sights for community projects include Portage Middle School, Towles Intermediate School, Scott Academy and Maplewood and South Wayne elementary schools.


With nearly 30,000 students, Fort Wayne Community Schools is one of the largest school districts in Indiana. FWCS proudly allows families to choose any of its 50 schools through its successful school-choice program creating diversity in each school, including some with more than 75 languages spoken. FWCS offers seven magnet schools focusing on areas such as science and math, communication, fine arts or Montessori at the elementary and middle school level. In high school, students can choose from the prestigious International Baccalaureate program, Project Lead the Way or New Tech Academy as well as other rigorous academic and specialty training programs.
