FWCS Staff Visiting Neighborhoods Wednesday - June 19, 2017
Fort Wayne Community Schools staff members will be covering the city Wednesday, June 21, visiting homes throughout the district from 4:30-7:30 p.m. The door-to-door campaign is designed to reach out to families during the summer to say hello and to remind them to complete online pre-registration.
This is the sixth year FWCS staff has visited families at their homes during the summer, and the first year all areas of the city are being covered on the same day.
“With staff members in every area of the city on Wednesday, it will be FWCS Day in Fort Wayne,” said Superintendent Dr. Wendy Robinson. “This is a fun day for staff and for our families. Children love to see their teachers, assistants and principals arrive at their house, and families appreciate that our staff members care enough to take time during their summer break to visit their neighborhoods.”
The door-to-door campaign will kick off from the Family & Community Engagement Center, 230 E. Douglas Ave., at 4:15 p.m. with staff members from the South Side High School feeder family schools.
Online pre-registration will be available to current families June 19-July 21 through the MyFWCS parent portal. Families will still need to attend in-school registration, but if they complete the pre-registration online, they will be able to go through the Rapid Registration line. In-school registration will be from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Friday, July 28, and noon-7 p.m. Monday, July 31. Parents will need to bring a photo ID and two proofs of residence. New families will register at the new Family & Community Engagement Center.
