Fort Wayne Community Schools students will be returning to class on Monday, Aug. 22 - and their parents will be welcomed back in style at their school’s annual Back-to-School Night coming up shortly! Many elementary schools also have their flower shows on that night, where students bring in evidence of their green thumb labors over the summer. In the spring, Fort Wayne Parks and Recreation Department provides seeds and materials for the planting projects that teach students first-hand the joys of “gardening.” Back-to-School nights are held in the schools. They offer parents an opportunity to meet with the principal and staff, get to know their child’s teacher and tour the building. In addition, some school PTAs provide dinner or snacks. For more information, contact your school. Following is a list of events sorted by date. NOTE TO MEDIA: Please contact the school if you would like to cover their event. Thank you!
