Fort Wayne Community Schools is offering a free, four-week program for middle and high school students to prepare for life after high school. Students in seventh- and eighth-grade and high school students are invited to sign up to learn more about preparing for college and future careers, understanding financial literacy and developing a well-rounded portfolio.

The program will be offered on four consecutive Saturdays, beginning Saturday, Oct. 22, and ending Saturday, Nov. 12, at the FWCS Family and Community Engagement Center, 230 E. Douglas Ave. High school students will attend from 9 a.m.-noon, followed by seventh- and eighth-graders from 1-3 p.m.

“This is an opportunity for students to come together and start thinking about what they want to do with their lives,” said Shenita Piper, K-12 College and Career Readiness Manager. “At the middle school level, we want students to start thinking about their future so they can make the right choices when they select high school courses. For high school students, we will help them navigate the college application, scholarship and financial aid process, which can be intimidating to students and parents.”
