Parkview to Take Over FWCS Health & Wellness Clinics - October 13, 2015
The Fort Wayne Community Schools Board of School Trustees approved a three-year contract with Parkview Health Systems to operate health and wellness clinics for district employees, retirees and dependent family members covered by an FWCS health plan. The contract with Parkview begins Nov. 1, 2015, and runs through Oct. 31, 2018.
FWCS first opened health and wellness centers in 2012, coinciding with changes to employee health plans. The clinics provide free acute & primary care as well as lab and pharmacy services to those covered by an FWCS group health plan. The clinics opened under Novia CareClinics, which was later acquired by QuadMed.
QuadMed’s contract ends Nov. 28, 2015. Throughout the month of November, the operation of the centers, located on Auburn Road and on Catalpa Street, will transition from QuadMed to Parkview. FWCS employees should see no disruption in services provided.
“We are pleased to be working with a local health system to provide this benefit to employees,” Superintendent Dr. Wendy Robinson said. “Parkview has been a long-time partner with Fort Wayne Community Schools, and we think this extension of our partnership will be beneficial to our employees.”
