FWCS Celebrates the Class of 2013 - June 05, 2013
Fort Wayne Community Schools will celebrate commencement Friday and Saturday for the nearly 2,000 members of the Class of 2013. This class is unique for FWCS as it is the first class to include graduates from New Tech Academy at Wayne High School. These students joined the program when it started in the fall of 2009.
The members of the Class of 2013 leave their high schools with varied future plans. Some will pursue higher education at colleges such as University of Notre Dame, Butler University, St. Louis University and Purdue University. Others will journey oversees, such as the North Side Salutatorian, who will spend a year in India as part of the National Security Language Initiative for Youth. Some graduates will enter the military or continue working on the technical training they need to start a career in trades such as carpentry or automotive mechanics. Still others will jump right into pursuing their entrepreneurial dreams, focusing on building their own businesses. But before embarking on their new adventures, they will come together one final time for their graduation ceremonies at the Memorial Coliseum.
Commencement ceremonies are held in the Memorial Coliseum at the following times:
- Snider – Friday, June 14, 6 p.m.
