Fort Wayne Community Schools is now partnering with Precision Driving to offer students driver education.

Classes will continue to be offered at the FWCS Career Academy Automotive Center, 1219 S. Lafayette St., but students will now also have the option of completing coursework online or at Precision Driving’s headquarters, 8828 Coldwater Road. The cost will be $375 for 30 hours of classroom instruction and six hours of driving.

After operating its own driver education program for 62 years, FWCS made the change to partner with Precision Driving to offer more driving opportunities to students and at a reduced cost. FWCS had been offering driver education only during the summer in recent years. Precision Driving offers programs year-round.

Upcoming classes will be offered:

  • Monday/Wednesday, 5-8 p.m. – April 8, 10, 15, 17, 22, 24, 29; May 1, 6, 8
  • Tuesday/Thursday, 5-8 p.m. – April 9, 11, 16, 18, 23, 25, 30; May 2, 7, 9
