Fort Wayne Community Schools Benefits
Available benefits vary by job type and schedule. As a general rule, full time positions include the full benefits package, while part time and substitute positions have more limited benefit offerings.
Comprehensive, highly affordable group health insurance plans through Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield, offered to employees working an average of 30+ hours per week over the course of each year.
Public pension program managed by the Indiana Public Retirement System (PERF and TRF). FWCS pays the 3% required contribution on behalf of eligible employees. This benefit is available to employees who work at least 6 hours per day.
Optional retirement benefit available to all employees, including substitutes. Employee contributes the funds with no current employer match.
Paid Time Off
Including paid holidays, personal business, personal illness, family illness, and vacation. Vary by job category and schedule.
Wellness Program
Various resources available to promote employee health and well-being, including wellness coaches, health screenings, exercise groups, wellness incentives, and an employee assistance program.
Term Life Insurance
Basic coverage at varying levels depending on job category and schedule, with optional supplemental coverage available.
Short/Long Term Disability
Provides earnings support for eligible employees during times of short or long term inability to work.
