Applications due to College and Career Readiness Department by Friday, February 28, 2025

Return the completed application to your high school Guidance Office (who will forward the application) or return directly to College & Career Readiness Office – Attention Shenita Bolton, Exec. Director of College & Career Readiness (located at the Wendy Y. Robinson Family and Community Engagement Center at 230 E. Douglas Avenue). Please note, it is likely that your high school will have a scholarship deadline before the College & Career Readiness Office deadline in order to allow time for school mail delivery.

Scholarships available to FWCS Seniors

DR. WENDY Y. ROBINSON LEGACY SCHOLARSHIP

$2,000

Students must intend to pursue a degree in elementary education and have a minimum of 2.5 GPA. This is a one-time award of $2,000.

JOHN F. YOUNG SCHOLARSHIP

$1,500

Students ranked in the upper half of their graduating class pursuing a 4-year degree. Award is $1,500 per year, renewable for four (4) years.

GRACE HOGAN SCHOLARSHIP

$1,500

Award is $1,500 per year, renewable for four (4) years.

CAROLINE ZWICK SCHOLARSHIP

$1,500

Students ranked in the upper half of their graduating class pursuing a 4-year degree. Award is $1,500 per year, renewable for four (4) years.

KASEY HARTER SCHOLARSHIP

$1,000 - $2,000

Students must attend a four-year college or university. This award amount varies. This is a one-time award.

BILL C. ANTHIS SCHOLARSHIP

$1,000 - $1,500

Students must plan to attend a public, degree-granting Indiana college. SAT score of 1000 or higher is required, along with ability to make the best use of time and talent in class, extracurricular activities and work experience. Award is $1,000-$1,500. This is a one-time award.

CLARENCE & JOSEPHINE BIEDENWED SCHOLARSHIP 

$10,000

Students must enroll in an Indiana university/college to pursue a degree in education. Award is $10,000 per year, renewable for four (4) years.

NURSE MARCI SCHOLARSHIP

$1,000

students must intend to pursue a degree in nursing, show financial need, & have a G.P.A of 2.5 & higher. Award is $1,000. This is a one-time award.

NOEL M. HUPP ENTREPRENEURSHIP SCHOLARSHIP

$500

Students must plan to major or minor in Entrepreneurship with a minimum 3.0 GPA. Brief essay to accompany application - "What Inspires You About Being an Entrepreneur?" Award is $500. This is a one-time award.

JOHN & MARYANN CHAPMAN SCHOLARSHIP

$1,500 - $3,000

NORTH SIDE SENIORS

Students must intend to enter a medical-related field and may be enrolled in either a two-year or four-year program. Award amount to be determined - between $1,500 - $3,000 per year, renewable for (4) years.

ALICE MACPHERSON SCHOLARSHIP

$1,500

NORTH SIDE SENIORS

Award is $1,500 per year, renewable for four (4) years.

LEE FAMILY SCHOLARSHIP

$2,500

NORTH SIDE SENIORS

Students must exhibit leadership potential, be in financial need, show academic accomplishments and are involved in extracurricular activities. Award is $2,500 per year, renewable for four (4) years given to three students each year.

RICHARD & PATRICIA WILSON SCHOLARSHIP

$1,500

NORTH SIDE SENIORS

Students must intend to study business or teaching. Award is $1,500. This is a one-time award.

NATHANIEL SAUL WITTENBERG SCHOLARSHIP

$5,000

NORTHROP SENIORS

Prefers a student in financial need, must not be in top two of graduating class, and major in: social studies, econ., political science, geography, international studies, history or teaching. $5,000 per year, renewable for four (4) years.

SHAHNAZ SHIPCHANDLER SCHOLARSHIP

$2,500

NORTHROP SENIORS

Prefers a student that will study biology, English, or economics with a minimum GPA of 3.2. Award is $2,500. This is a one-time award.

RICHARD & PATRICIA WILSON SCHOLARSHIP

$1,500

SOUTH SIDE SENIORS

Students must intend to study business or teaching. Award is $1,500. This is a one-time award.

EMMA M. SHOCKLEY 
SCHOLARSHIP

$1,500 - $2,000

SOUTH SIDE SENIORS

Students must intend to study at Indiana University Fort Wayne. Award is $1,500 - $2,000. This is a one-time award.

CHARLES BAKER
SCHOLARSHIP

WAYNE SENIORS

Students must rank 3 through 10 in their graduating class. The amount varies based on investment returns.
This is renewable for four (4) years.

With college costs rising, here are some general guidelines to keep in mind

  • Don’t limit the colleges you are considering based on cost alone. Many schools offer need-based aid or work-study programs.
  • If you need money to pay for school, federal loans may be a good choice.
  • If your circumstances change, contact your college’s financial aid office. You may be eligible for an adjusted aid package.

All scholarships are awarded on the basis of financial need, scholarship, leadership and initiative displayed during high school years. Applicants should rank in the upper half of their graduating class and plan to attend a four-year college or university.
