Wendy Y. Robinson, Ed.D.

Dr. Robinson is a tireless advocate of public education and in her more than four decades in public education has developed close working relationships with some of the most prestigious educational organizations in the country. Dr. Robinson was one of the members of the inaugural class of Broad Center Fellows, a program designed to prepare and challenge urban school leaders. She is nationally recognized for her expertise in improving urban education and is frequently asked to speak at conferences and events hosted by organizations such as Learning Forward, The Wallace Foundation, American Association of School Administrators and the NYC Leadership Academy. Dr. Robinson has received numerous awards, including being named a 2016 Education Week Leader to Learn From and receiving the National Alliance of Black School Educators 2009 Joseph E. Hill Superintendent of the Year Award.

Dr. Robinson is an active member of the community and has formed partnerships with local agencies and businesses to increase educational opportunities. She serves on numerous boards including Greater Fort Wayne Inc. and Parkview Hospital. She is a longtime member of the Indiana Urban Schools Association, serving as president in 2012 and 2013. She will lead IUSA again in 2018. She was also a member of the Indiana Panel to Study Alternatives to the ISTEP, a state-appointed committee recommending changes to Indiana’s standardized testing system.

In her 40 years with Fort Wayne Community Schools, she has served as a classroom teacher, assistant principal, principal and central office administrator. She was appointed to the position of Superintendent of Fort Wayne Community Schools in July 2003 after an eight-year assignment as Deputy Superintendent. Dr. Robinson was awarded her undergraduate and advanced degrees from DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne and Ball State University in Muncie. Her Ed.D. in educational administration and supervision was obtained from Ball State in 1996.

Fort Wayne Community Schools - Chief Operations Officer

Charles Cammack, Jr., MA

Charles Cammack, Jr. was named Chief Operations Officer for FWCS in August of 2010. He joined FWCS in 2008 as Human Resources Director with 20 years of experience in human resources, including 17 years with Knight Ridder, Inc.

At Knight Ridder, he served as the vice president for human resources at Philadelphia Newspapers, Inc., a position he earned after working for several years as director of human resources for the Post-Tribune in Gary and manager of human resources at Fort Wayne Newspapers. From 1978-1987, he was a reporter and anchor for the former WKJG-TV 33.

Mr. Cammack is a graduate of Wayne High School and received his bachelor’s degree from Purdue University and his master’s degree from the University of Wisconsin.

Kathy Friend, CPA

Kathy was born and raised in Fort Wayne and graduated from Northrop High School.

She attended Indiana-Purdue Fort Wayne (IPFW) for all but one semester before graduating from Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI) in 1982 with a BS in accounting. She is a certified public accountant.

She started her career at a CPA firm in Indianapolis and then became a senior planner at Paul Harris Stores corporate offices. In 1988 she returned to Fort Wayne and became the Director of Internal Audit at the City of Fort Wayne and later held the position of Deputy Controller and then City Controller.

Kathy moved to Fort Wayne Community Schools (FWCS) in January 2000 as Chief Financial Officer.

She serves as the FWCS liaison with the area delegation of the Indiana General Assembly. She has been involved in several boards and finance/investment committees in the community and volunteers each year for Junior Achievement at Forest Park Elementary School.

Tracy Williams

Tracy Williams joined FWCS in 2014 as Chief Academic Officer with more than 20 years of experience in education. She most recently served as the assistant superintendent of curriculum and instruction in Benton Harbor, Mich.

She began her career as a sixth-grade teacher in Cleveland, Ohio, in 1993. In 2000, she became a middle school assistant principal in Cleveland and, in 2005, she became principal of a middle school in Maple Heights, Ohio. She joined the Benton Harbor Area Schools in 2012.

Tracy earned her Bachelor of Science in Education from the University of Cincinnati; a Masters of Education, Supervision, from Cleveland State University; an Administrative License Program and Superintendent License Program from Cleveland State University.

Chief of Student, Family and Community Engagement

Debra Faye Williams-Robbins, Esq.

A graduate of Northrop High School, Ms. Williams-Robbins received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in elementary education from Earlham College in Richmond, Ind., and her Master of Arts Degree from Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne (IPFW).

After teaching at Arlington Elementary School from 1979 to 1990, Ms. Williams-Robbins received her Administrative Certificate from IPFW. She then served as a Title I Resource teacher for a year before being appointed to her first administrative position as dean/counselor at Miami Middle School from 1991-1993.

Following her tenure at Miami, Ms. Williams-Robbins served as principal at Arlington Elementary years from 1993-2001. It was from this position that she was appointed Area Administrator for the North Side-South Side Area. This position later became the High School Area Administration position and then became the Assistant Superintendent-Secondary. As the first Chief of Student, Family and Community Engagement, Ms. Williams-Robbins leads the Family and Community Engagement Center, which is designed to support new and current families and connect families with resources in the community.

Ms. Williams-Robbins began her doctorate in Educational Administration and Supervision at Ball State University. She began to notice a trend in education that indicated there was a need for administrators with enhanced legal knowledge. Pursuant to this recognition, Ms. Williams-Robbins began to study law at the Thomas M. Cooley Law School in Lansing, Mich. She received the Juris Doctor degree in May 2000 and after passing the Indiana Bar examination on her first attempt, was admitted to the Indiana Bar in May 2001.

Assistant Superintendent Elementary - Get Nichols
Get Nichols began her career in education in 1980 as a first-grade teacher in Oklahoma. She joined FWCS in 1994 as a substitute teacher and was hired as a third-grade teacher at Price Elementary in 1996. In 1999, she participated in the administrative intern program and was assigned as principal of Brentwood Elementary in 2000 where she stayed for seven years. In 2007, she was named an Elementary Director in the Assistant Superintendent-Elementary’s Office.
