Fort Wayne Community Schools Shared Humanity
We are committed to recognizing, valuing and celebrating our shared humanity.
Fort Wayne Community Schools has served the community for more than 160 years, experiencing all the joys and sorrows our nation has faced. We embrace our history, knowing that our experiences and our ancestry may be different, but our stories are intertwined.
In 2021, more than 600 FWCS employees participated in the inaugural year of United Front, a community-wide initiative providing a safe environment for exploring our own experiences, learning a common language to allow for productive discussion and developing a shared philosophy that will change the trajectory of the community for generations to come.
At Fort Wayne Community Schools, we unequivocally condemn racism, discrimination and exclusion of all kinds.
Shared Philosophy
As educators, we are responsible not only for teaching the children in our community but to nurturing our own lifelong learning.
We believe the culture of our organization should reflect the representation we have from our community – age, race, gender, ethnicity, orientation, socio-economic status, religious affiliation and all other aspects that make up our being. We support and embrace what makes us unique and what ties us together – our shared humanity.
