Fort Wayne Community Schools

At Fort Wayne Community Schools, we are committed to transforming education to ensure students are ready for life after graduation, whether they enroll in higher education, enlist in the military or enter the workforce as an employee or entrepreneur. Through our Schools of Success, students connect their core academic studies with real world relevancy. In high school, this is accentuated by our partnership with Junior Achievement's 3DE, which students experience as soon as they enter the Freshman Schools of Success. From the moment students enter FWCS, they will see themselves in the Portrait of an Explorer (elementary), Portrait of a Connector (middle school) and Portrait of a Graduate (high school).

Voices of FWCS

MAX

When I entered high school, it opened my eyes to all of the possibilities. There were so many options available to help decide what you want to do in life. This is one of the reasons people want to come here.

I think one of the best things about FWCS is that we are leading the way in preparing our high school students for what comes the day after graduation. As a graduate of Northrop High School, a current employee and parent to three FWCS students, I appreciate that my kids will have hands-on experience with careers before they leave high school. We have become intertwined in our community by building relationships with local businesses and challenging other districts to do the same.

Being the daughter of a longtime Fort Wayne Community Schools teacher and an FWCS alum, I am proud to work for this district. I am continually impressed by the district’s ability to find programming that helps to immerse students in experiences they might not have otherwise had, including 3DE by Junior Achievement and the adoption of the Ford NGL model.
