Record Number: 9701     Displayed from: Mar 5 2013 12:00AM, until: Mar 20 2013 12:00AM

Indian Village fourth-graders will host a Books Alive! program from 11 a.m.-12:15 p.m. Fourth-grade students will invite other grade levels to the gymnasium from 11-11:45 a.m. to watch them in action and then from 11:45 a.m.-12:15 p.m. parents and other community members will be invited to see them in action. Each of the fourth-graders received the name of a famous American, researched the person and wrote a biography on him or her. For Books Alive! the students will be dress like their person and prepared with a presentation. The students will sit in the gymnasium with the biographies in front of them on the floor while they are in a "frozen" position representative of their person. When someone picks up their book, they then "come alive" and give their speech. When they are finished they return to their frozen state.
