Anthis students mentor younger peersRecord Number: 9642 Displayed from: Feb 14 2013 12:00AM, until: Mar 14 2013 12:00AM
A small group of students from Brentwood Elementary will visit Anthis Career Center from 9:15-11 a.m. The visit is part of a partnership between the two schools to show elementary school students how their lessons connect to high school and work beyond high school. The students partner with a "buddy" at Anthis in one of the Career Center's programs (e.g., automotive, cosmetology, culinary arts). The Anthis students mentor their younger peers and show them how math and literacy are involved in their program. The Brentwood students also get a chance to cook, do hair styling, turn wrenches and more.
